Essence for the face
Essence, or hoitoneste in Finnish, is applied after toner.
Essence contains active ingredients, but in lower concentrations than serum or ampoule. Active ingredients like vitamin C or niacinamide can be used to treat pigment changes, add extra moisture to the skin, or prevent early signs of aging.
What is serum?
Serum is a skincare product that contains active ingredients that penetrate deep into the skin and effectively treat skin concerns.
Serum is applied after toner and essence, before moisturizer. If you use multiple serums and/or ampoules at once, apply them from the thinnest to the thickest consistency.
Find serum for aging skin, for combination skin, for dry skin and for oily or blemished skin.
Difference between ampoule and serum
Ampoule contains active ingredients in high concentrations intended to treat a specific skin concern, such as uneven skin tone or fine lines.
Ampoules often contain only one active ingredient, like centella asiatica extract, but in higher concentrations than in serum.
Serums, on the other hand, often combine several active ingredients, giving you the benefits of multiple ingredients at once.
