Eye creams and masks

Late nights cause dark circles under the eyes, and while we wouldn’t trade the crow’s feet from countless laughs with friends for anything, it’s a good idea to start preventing their formation early on. This category also includes products for treating already visible issues. Vitamin C effectively brightens dark under-eye circles, and ginseng and retinol are excellent aids both for preventing and treating fine lines. The best under-eye patches, or eye area masks, provide intensive care for the delicate and thin skin around the eyes.

You need about a pinhead-sized amount of eye cream per eye. Gently pat the cream under the eye and on the brow bone; do not rub or apply cream to the moving eyelid.

Eye creams and masks

Eye creams are specifically designed and developed for the care of the sensitive skin area around the eyes. Eye creams not only treat and moisturize but also, for example, brighten dark under-eye circles and address signs of aging.

How does an eye mask differ from eye cream?

Eye masks work like sheet masks for the face; patches containing essence or serum are applied to under eye area and left to work for about 5-20 minutes, depending on the product. They bring effective additional treatment to the sensitive eye area to enhance the effects of the daily eye cream, or to give an additional boost to different skin problems than the cream.

The patches e.g. brighten and hydrate effectively, and you can combine them with eye creams to achieve the desired end result.

For example, you can use a brightening eye mask a few times a week and a suitable anti-aging eye cream every day.

Eye cream for dark circles

Darkness around the eyes can be caused by a few different reasons. The skin around the eyes is naturally thinner than the rest of the face, and in some people the blood vessels show through the thin skin, making the skin appear dark. The shape of the bones can also create a shadow around the eyes, or the darkness can be caused by the darkening of the skin itself.

Excellent ingredients for the treatment of dark circles are e.g. Vitamin C, caffeine, retinol and hyaluronic acid.
